Sometimes we enjoy a juice combined with banana, to create more of a smoothie and this “banana smooth juice” really hits the spot, at any time of the day. Kids will love it too.
You can´t put a banana through your juicer, so you will need to have a blender or food processor to combine the banana and the juice – a hand blender works fine too.
Bananas are great to include in your diet on a regular basis. Their health benefits include giving your body electrolytes (including potassium, magnesium, calcium and sodium) – you need electrolytes to help keep your body hydrated, regulate blood pressure, maintain balanced nerve and tissue function, plus a myriad of other bodily functions. We often see tennis players eating bananas, in between sets, which gives you a clear indication that they also help to bring energy to your body. Bananas are a quick and easy snack to carry in your lunch box. Additionally they are high in fibre, which helps us to maintain a healthy digestive system. And the added bonus – they are a great shape – can you see the smile?!
Banana smooth juice recipe
2cm slice lemon
Wash all of your veggies, maybe cutting off the top of the carrot and put them apples, carrots, pear and lemon through your juicer. Add the juice into your blender, then add the banana. Blend for 30 to 45 seconds to create a wonderful smoothie style juice drink.
Remember to wash your juicer and blender before enjoying your juice – this reduces the staining on your juicer.
Low fruit juice option
Sometimes you might want a more savoury version, with fewer fruits. In that case try our low fruit banana smooth juice, replacing some of the fruit with veggies:
• Low fruit banana smooth juice: Replace one apple with one or two large carrots. You can also take out the pear, and replace with a courgette or cucumber.
