Juice Recipe: Rejuvenation
Rejuvenate yourself from the inside out with our fabulous “Rejuvenation” juice. As children return to school keep their immune system high with the supercharged juice.
Kiwis, although small, are powerhouses of vitamins and minerals. One kiwi contains five times the amount of vitamin C in one orange! (Vitamin C helps to keep our immune system in tiptop order). They also contain potassium, folate and vitamin K. As kiwis are high fibre they look after our digestive tract and at the same time they have a low glycaemic load (which means they do not raise your blood sugar levels quickly), both of which makes kiwis good for people who are watching their weight or for diabetics.
We usually serve this juice on an evening, but you can enjoy it any time of the day. The combination of ingredients make a delightful light refreshing juice.
Juice Recipe: Rejuvenation
Serves: 1
Calories: 173
Ingredients
½ courgette
1 pepino (Spanish cucumber or ½ salad cucumber)
1 apple
1-2 kiwi
2cm unwaxed lemon
Method
Wash all of the ingredients, then place them all in your juicer. Easy! There is no need to remove the skin on the kiwi.
For a no fruit option you could add in a handful of spinach and half a small green pepper. If you need more liquid (to make a bigger glass of juice) then add more courgette will bring creaminess to your juice, or extra cucumber (for a fresher lighter juice).
Add half an avocado to super charge your vitamins and minerals (plus bringing healthy essential fats) and to make this juice more substantial (adding avocado will mean you will feel fuller for longer. Half an avocado will add 276 calories).
