Immune boost berry juice recipe

immune boost berry juice recipe juice retreat spain

If you are looking for a simple and tasty juice to give your immune system a boost, then you will love our Immune boost berry juice. This berry juice contains only a few ingredients, which work really well together.

It might be a little tricky to find fresh berries at this time of year, so frozen ones work just as well – just remember to let frozen berries defrost for 15 minutes before blending them into the juice.

Swaps and alternatives: Using pears can make this quite a sweet juice, so if you prefer to drink less fruit, then swap the pears for 3-4 large carrots. Read on for ingredients and instructions on how to make this into a smoothie.

Immune boost: add a chunk of ginger to this juice to really give it a kick and supercharge your health!

Immune boost berry juice recipe

 Serves: 1

Calories: 210

2 pears
½ cucumber (or courgette)
2 cm lemon
Large handful of berries (if using frozen, allow to defrost first)
Optional: 2 cm fresh ginger root

Method

Wash your fruit and vegetables first, beneath cold running water. You can leave the skin on the lemon if it is not waxed (and if your juicer can handle lemon). Put the pear, cucumber and lemon through the juicer. (If you are using ginger also put it through your juicer now). Allow the juice to run into a large jug.

Add the berries into the jug and blend together using a hand-blender (or pour everything into a large blender).

Remember to wash your juicer and blender (or hand-blender) before drinking your juice (this helps to keep your juicer in good condition and avoids the fruit sugars staining the equipment).

To make this recipe into a smoothie instead, you will need a good blender and these ingredients:

1 pear – remove stalk and core
½ cucumber
1 tbsp lemon juice
Handful of berries
100 ml non-dairy milk
(Optional ginger juice)

Place everything into your blender then blend for about 60 – 90 seconds, to make a smooth consistency. (If you are using ginger, you can grate 1-2 cm of ginger root, then squeeze it, so that the juice runs into the blender, or simply add the grated ginger in – this avoids getting large chunks of ginger root that has not been properly broken down). Pour into a glass.

Remember to wash your blender before enjoying your smoothie.
