Beetroot juice is a delicious and easy way to increase your intake of essential vitamins and minerals, including: folate, manganese, vitamin C, potassium and iron. We team beetroot together with carrots, broccoli and apple, plus a dash of lemon to create this delicious beetroot juice, which we call “detox lunch”, as we serve it at lunchtime. However, it is so good, you can enjoy it any time of the day!

Beetroot is said to have many health benefits, including helping to maintain healthy blood pressure, improving digestion and helping with blood flow around the body. Folate helps cells to grow and function, and vitamin C also helps to keep our cells in tip top shape.

We recommend wearing an apron (or dark clothes) when making this juice, as the combination of beetroot and carrots turns the juice a lovely dark shade of red, which can stain your clothes if you get splashed!

Detox lunch beetroot juice recipe

½ beetroot
3 carrots
2cm broccoli stem
1 apple
2cm lemon


Wash your fruit and vegetables first, beneath cold running water – pay attention to the beetroot root and leaf area. If using an unwaxed lemon, you can leave the skin on, although you might want to remove the harder skin on the outside of the lemon as sometimes some juicers can find it hard to cope with it.

Put the beetroot, carrots, broccoli and apple and lemon through the juicer, allowing the juice to run into a large jug. Watch the splash as beetroot can stain your clothes!

Wash your juicer before drinking your juice (this helps to keep your juicer in good condition and avoids the fruit sugars staining the equipment).

Swaps and alternatives

If you prefer to make a complete vegetable juice, remove the apple and replace with either 2-3 more large carrots or a small cucumber.
