  • Q.

    Do you have wi-fi?

    A.

Yes, wifi is available in all of the communal areas and your room. We do however, encourage you to switch off from your phone, laptop etc – this is a retreat, so take some time away from these devices to enable yourself to fully relax.

  • Q.

How long can I stay for?

    A.

You can stay for as long as you want. Here at La Crisalida we are flexible, so you can arrive on any day of the week and depart on any day (subject to availability). The minimum stay is three nights, there is no maximum. Please contact us here to discuss.

  • Q.

Payments can also be made via direct bank transfer or via paypal (extra charge for paypal) – we can provide these details when you secure your booking. • Q.

I am part of a group – how do I book?

    A.

We can cater for groups – please contact us to discuss in more detail. You can all pay individually or as a group. To make sure we know you are part of a group, let us know the name(s) of the people you are coming with.

  • Q.

What do I need to bring with me?

    A.

You will need a selection of clothes, including exercise gear (something you can move freely in – shorts, jogging pants, tops). Summer is hot! Remember your swim wear, shorts and t-shirts for wandering around in and clothing for the evenings (we suggest you include a cardigan or jumper even in early/late summer).

If you are coming early or late in the year, you will need warmer clothes (jumper/sweatshirts, jackets, long trousers) – the temperature can dip quite low in the winter, particularly early morning or at night.

A good pair of trainers, plus socks, for walking are needed (or walking shoes), bring something comfortable. Also, bring footwear to wear around the pool and perhaps a pair for the evening.

Other items to consider include: water bottle, sunglasses, something to read, a journal/diary (something to write in), sun-cream and sunhat, pool towel, toiletries and a carry bag (for going to the beach!). Towards the start of the year or end of the year you might also need a light raincoat – although it doesn´t rain very often, it can sometimes arrive!

Remember to bring a sufficient supply of any medications that you are on – please inform us in advance about your medication. All of the rooms have small fridges for your use.

You do not need to bring any activity equipment with you– all exercise equipment such as yoga mats will be provided. Bath towels are provided and all rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, an iron and an ironing board.

  • Q.

I have high blood pressure/ am diabetic / am on medication.  How will this affect my stay?

    A.

We welcome everyone at La Crisalida Retreats. If you have any doubts about whether your health is up to a visit to the retreat, please check with your medical practitioner / clinician / doctor before booking – we are happy to speak to them.

Please let us know if you have any health challenges (including physical limitations) at the time of booking your retreat, including any medication that you may be taking. Any information that you supply to us is treated in strict confidence and read on a need to know basis. One of the reasons for providing this information is so that exercises, e.g. yoga, can be amended so that it is appropriate for you. When you arrive, you can also chat to one of our mentors, if you have any questions. We also recommend that you let the instructor for each activity know anything relevant, at the start of a class.

  • Q.

What can I do to prepare for my visit?

    A.

We recommend that you cut down on caffeine, chocolate, sugar, tobacco and alcohol in the week or two before you come, as this will smooth the detox process and you will be less likely to experience some of the symptoms that can occur during detox (such as headaches). We also suggest you increase your fluid intake significantly in the days running up to your retreat – drink lots of water! This helps to ensure you are fully hydrated when you arrive, to help you feel at your best. We will give you a welcome tour when you arrive at the retreat to help you settle in with ease and familiarise yourself with our activities, accommodation and facilities. We also have a welcome chat every day to explain things in more detail and to give you the opportunity to ask one of our health and wellbeing mentors any questions.

  • Q.

How do I get to the retreat?

    A.

We offer free transfers between Alicante airport and the retreat, so we will collect you from the airport and drop you back for your return flight. Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance of your flight details. This service is included in the price of your holiday (minimum stay of 3 nights applies). If you would prefer to hire a car and drive, please let us know and we can suggest some reliable car hire companies. For more information, with printable airport transfer instructions and driving directions, please see the location and getting here page.

What type of food do you serve?

    A.

The food at La Crisalida is plant-based – we serve an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables and whole foods. The foods that we do not serve include: sugar, bread, refined flour, cow’s milk and derivatives, eggs, coffee and tea (except herbal and green teas), alcohol and sweets. For more information on the food at the retreat please click here, and to read about juicing click here.

  • Q.

    A.

No. All retreats are alcohol free. We respectfully request that you do not bring alcohol to the retreat.

    A.

Do I have to do the activities?

    A.

All activities are optional. However, to get the most out of your retreat, we would encourage you to participate in as much of the program as you can. The activities have been designed to support the retreat of your choice but it is your retreat, so it is entirely your choice.

  • Q.

Are there places for self-guided walks or running?

    A.

La Crisalida is situated in a beautiful area and you are free to walk as much as you choose. Many of our guests walk down to the beach each day, to enjoy the sea air and view along the promenade next to the wonderful blue flag beach. Some active guests choose to run to the lighthouse. Bike hire is available locally too so you can explore the area at your leisure.

  • Q.

I have not done some of these activities before and don’t know if I can manage the classes. Can you help?

We want you to have a relaxing time on your holiday – so do what feels right for you. You never know, you may even discover something new that you love and want to continue when you get back home! More information and commonly asked questions are on each of the activities pages.

  • Q.

What types of meditation do you do?

    A.

    A.

You can email us in advance – info@lacrisalidaretreats.com or ask when you are here. Personal life coaching is available at extra cost for all retreats.

Accomodation

  • Q.

I want to visit La Crisalida on my own – but want to share a room, how do the rooms get allocated?

    A.

We offer rooms on a shared or single basis, so you are free to choose whether to have your own space or share. If you are travelling on your own and would like to share a room, we will match you with someone of the same sex and, where possible, a similar age.

At La Crisalida we have a relaxed inclusive atmosphere – for instance meals are taken communally. However, if you wish to have a room to yourself then you can do so; just let us know when you book.

  • Q.

    Why are the apartments shared?

    A.

The rooms are large and all contain a seating area, separate bathroom and a small kitchenette. Some apartments contain two bedroom areas (each able to sleep two people), others have one bedroom area (for two people). Of course, the major benefit for guests of sharing a room is that you can come to the retreat at a significantly reduced cost. We find that many guests also appreciate the real opportunity to share their retreat experience with others and to meet new friends.

  • Q.

    • I want my own room

    A.

We recognise that some guests prefer to have their own room. If you would prefer your own sleeping area, or an apartment to yourself, please let us know. For more information click here or contact us to discuss.

  • Q.

I am part of a couple – can we share our own room?

    A.

Of course! Make sure you add both names to the enquiry or booking form and note that you wish to share your own room. We have double beds available in some of our rooms.

  • Q.

    I still have more questions!
