Each week one of the chefs from our talented Kitchen team shares with you practical plant-based cooking tips and advice in our interactive cooking demonstration workshop. You’ll learn how to make some of our popular nutritious and delicious recipes, and we will give you some recipes to take home with you. You’ll also have the chance to taste the recipes being made!
We change the recipes regularly, so it’s well worth coming to each week and each time you visit!
It’s a great opportunity for you to ask our team any questions about how to incorporate plant-based cooking at home, so that you can add more fruit and vegetables into your diet.
Receive useful and practical advice about juicing from one of our programme mentors during our weekly juicing demo.
You’ll leave the session knowing how to pick a suitable juicer for you and how to get the most out of juicing as part of your detox. You’ll also have a greater understanding of the different benefits many fruits and vegetables bring to each juice.
In this interactive session you can design your own juice, with our guidance, to give you confidence so that when you return home you will be ready to make your own!

Other exercise classes
We offer many other classes as part of the La Crisalida Programme, all of them are designed to bring movement to the body through exercise and to support your breathing and physiology.
Core works and legs, bums and tums classes both provide an energetic workout to tone your muscles and give strength to your body. Yoga-lates is an exercise class designed to work core, abdomen, pelvic floor and glutes, to a fun and motivating soundtrack.
Qi-Gong is a gentle form of exercise, which raises energy flow through your body and helps you to become present, re-connect and focus on your breath.
Retreat activities may vary depending upon the availability of the instructor and the time of year.
Aqua Aerobics (summer only)
During the warmer summer months we offer regular aqua aerobics classes each week in one of the outdoor swimming pools.
This upbeat and fun class encourages movement for the whole body whilst you splash along to soundtracks in the water. Aqua aerobics is a fantastic feel-good exercise and is very popular with guests at the retreat.
We can also offer this class when the weather is sunny in the cooler months, in the heated outdoor magnesium pool. (Note, this class is not scheduled in the winter and colder months).
Explore for yourself
Our retreat centre is situated in a great location to explore the local area. It can easily be explored on foot or by bike. Each Sunday, the nearby Albir market is a popular spot for those wishing to purchase gifts or souvenirs to take home. It’s also a fantastic spot for tasting some of the region’s excellent produce.
We are close to a beautiful Blue Flag beach where you can sunbathe, swim, hire a canoe, all to your heart’s content.
The beautiful hilltop town of Altea with its cobbled streets and whitewashed houses has a fantastic atmosphere especially on summer evenings and at weekends. Here you will find spectacular views from the “mirador” at the top and lots of little boutiques, art galleries and artisanal shopkeepers selling their wares.
