Other activities

We offer a wide variety of other retreat activities in our full programme each week. Every week one of our talented chefs shows you how to prepare some of our delicious recipes – you get to ask questions, take the recipe home and to sample the food during this interactive session. We also give you lots of tips on how to juice during our weekly juicing demonstration. During the summer we offer regular aqua aerobics classes in one of the outside pools – have fun splashing to fun soundtracks! We usually also offer a yoga-lates class each week; this exercise class is designed to work core, abdomen, pelvic floor and glutes, to a fun soundtrack.

If you love dancing, then Latinasize might be a class for you! Learn some dance steps and move your body in this fun exercise class. We currently also offer one Qi Gong class each week, a gentle form of exercise, which raises energy flow through your body. Our Dr Coach workshop each week gives you tips on how to cleanse, and to bring balance and health to your body, using natural medicine and items that you have in your kitchen. Maybe you fancy trying therapeutic Kung Fu. Retreat activities may vary depending upon the availability of the instructor and the time of year. Both outdoor pools are open all year for you to swim or sunbathe next to!

There is also plenty of time to explore the local area, either on foot (walking, running), or by hiring bike from local bike shop. We are close to a beautiful Blue Flag beach, so you can sunbathe, swim in the sea, hire a canoe, all to your hearts content. We have information on local bus services at reception (maybe explore the nearby mountains or visit the lovely hill town of Guadalest). The nearby Spanish town of Altea is stunning, with narrow cobbled streets and an old church at the top, well worth a walk, bus or taxi ride.

  • Q.

Do I have to take part in all of the activities?

    A.

All retreat activities are optional, you go to whichever activities you want. We do not ask you sign up for any activities, so you have complete freedom to do them all, or none at all!

  • Q.

What do I need to wear?

    A.

Comfy exercise clothes are needed for most activities. Bring your trainers. For aqua aerobics you will need your swimming costume (we will provide you with a pool towel for use around the retreat).

  • Q.

How do I know what activity is on?

    A.

We provide a weekly programme for you, which we will give to you when you arrive. The programme is updated each week. Activities may change depending upon the time of the year (e.g. aqua aerobics only takes place during the hot summer months) and availability of instructors. Some activities, like Dr Coach, therapeutic Kung Fu, Qi Gong and Latinasize, are specialised, and occasionally these instructors need holidays! We always aim to provide an alternative class if an instructor is away.
