La Crisalida Retreats was created by John and Lisa Brant in 2013. Together, they are explorers in the field of lifestyle change and wellbeing. John and Lisa often share their story publicly that many years ago they were living lives of quiet desperation; living in London, feeling unfulfilled and burnt out. A journey of huge personal change on the inside helped them to dramatically shift the direction of their lives on the outside. They spent years travelling the world searching for the very best information on living a rich and fulfilling life, in all areas. They are inspired to use what they have learned to create something special for their retreat guests.
We have a fantastic team of people at La Crisalida Retreats. Our team come from all over the world, so speak many languages! All are passionate about what they do and how they can help you to enjoy your stay with us. We also have others who work with us, like holistic and massage therapists and other yoga teachers. Lisa has been working in the field of health for over twenty years, first as an epidemiologist and now following a more alternative route! She is a therapeutic hatha and yin yoga teacher and also teaches mindfulness meditation. Lisa is a nutritionist so designs all our menus, as well as running the retreats. She is also qualified in NLP and hypnosis. Over the years Lisa has overcome her own health challenges with severe endometriosis and is happy to share her story.
John is an author, speaker and lifestyle coach. He oversees the retreats, as well as often leading life makeover workshops, meditation, walking, and if you are lucky, rebounding! John worked in a high pressure career as an Actuary before making significant changes in lifestyle culminating in his move to Spain. He is qualified in Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), hypnosis, life coaching, the DeMartini Method and is passionate about helping others to find their own inspired path.
Health and wellbeing mentors

Our health and well-being mentors have a wealth of experience and training. They lead many of our yoga, meditation and life makeover workshops and classes as well as guide and inspire our guests to live a more healthy and balanced life. They are here to support you during your stay with us. They will speak to you when you arrive at the retreat to make you feel welcome and lead welcome chats daily to give you an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the classes and the retreat.
Reception and admin

The reception and admin teams are a talented group of women, fantastic at multitasking and sorting things out! They are the team who will answer your questions, take your booking, arrange your transfers, book any treatments that you want and generally are there to help if you have any questions or problems. Carina and Janet are also duty managers.

What can we say about our kitchen team except they are AMAZING! Led by the energetic Barbel, together they serve up delicious tasty, home-cooked food and juices every day, always with a smile. You can chat to them if you have any special dietary requirements or allergies.
Housekeeping and maintenance

Our housekeeping and maintenance team, led by the wonderful Cristina, are the people that keep the retreat clean, tidy and looking great all year round. You might also see some of this smiley team helping out around meal times or in the kitchen.
